Three women from three different generations: grandmother, mother and daughter. Three women lost in the past, the present and the future. Minou is a weaver and an expert rug-maker. She lives with her mother and daughter and is busy trying to repair a valuable old kelim rug. Caught up in her own world of dreams and obsessions, she hardly takes any notice of the other two women living with her. But then her daughter disappears, and Minou sets off in search of her. Minou’s mother is forgetful. Her grip on the present is slipping away from her so much that she gets lost and can’t find her way home. For Minou, who is in danger of losing everything she has, the search for her daughter and her mother becomes a search for truth – and a way of finding her true identity. The journeys help them to discover who they are. But will they be able to live together again?

Manijeh Hekmat’s second feature not only combines the cream of Iran’s acting talent with a gripping narrative that maps the lives of three generations of women but also gives a warm ensemble portrait of contemporary Tehran.
