Diego Sabanés’ film,
Made Up Memories is more or less a variation of the basic situation in Love by Károl

y Makk: a family is trying to recomfort their sick mother with white lies, made up stories, letters and parcels when his sons disappears without a trace.
The director told the audience that his purpose was to tell the viewer how such an innocent lie can lead to an uncontrollable chain of events. Although the film is basically a drama about „healthy people’s illness” Sabanés found it important to represent an Argentine middle-class family’s life with a touch of Cortázarian humour. „This film is not only about a family’s problems and relationships but in general about human relations.”, said the filmmaker. He also admitted that the ancient antique furnished family manson in the film does not exist in real – the scenes were shot in five different buildings.
