Uránia at 20.15. The freshly wed heroes of the stuffy Vietna
mese-French melodrama, Duyen and her fiancé are unable to consummate their marriage, so they both seek to satisfy their desires with someone else. The movie is concerned with several of such social problems in modern Vietnam as homosexuality for example. Recommended for the fans of painful and passionate Far-East movies!
Claire Denis, who has two features on Titanic programme this year, gets back to her recurring theme of her own personal view of Africa in her picture
White Material. This film, nominated to last year’s Golden Lion stars wonderful
Isabelle Huppert as the heroine. Due to a change in the programme, this film is screened today at 17.00 at
