From
Tommy Lee Jones to Joy Division, a colourful variety of daring independent films will make their début at Titanic International Film Festival in Budapest, between 3 - 13 April, 2008.
From Latin America to Asia, and from the United States to Europe, this spring will see a boatload of current art-, cult-, scandal-, and documentary films from the world’s contemporary film harvest yet again.

In the Valley of Elah, the new drama of Paul Haggis (director of Crash) will premiere with Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, investigating the disappearance of his son, who had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. In another premiere, the western
3:10 to Yuma, Christian Bale attempts to put a very unwilling Russell Crowe up on the prison train headed to the gallows.
This year’s programme offers some 60 films, including more than 50 features, as well as several documentaries and shorts, which are all arranged in sections according to their theme and country of origin. Following the newest festival trend, the Music for Whoever section will showcase rock music films about
Sonic Youth, Bob Dylan, Joe Strummer (The Clash) or the
Joy Division, among others.
The festival venues are Uránia National Film Theatre, Toldi Cinema, Örökmozgó Film Museum, and Vörösmarty Cinema.
