In January 2011, internationally acclaimed Iranian filmmaker
Jafar Panahi was sentenced to 6 years in prison and banned from directing and producing films for 20 years. He was convicted of being involved in activities colluding against the regime. The sentence triggered international reproof and several human rights organizations and film boards protested against it. Now the Hungarian audience can also demonstrate their sympathy for Panahi at a special screening organized by CirkoFilm – Másképp Foundation.
